Press release on the occasion of the European Immunisation Week 2025

The European Immunisation Week took place from 27 April to 3 May 2025 under the motto "Vaccinations for all are humanly possible". The annual initiative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) aims to educate, inform and raise awareness among the population about vaccination measures to prevent diseases.

One of Saxony-Anhalt's five health goals is to "achieve an age-appropriate vaccination status in 90 per cent of the population". The mandatory school entry examinations enable the health authorities in Saxony-Anhalt to carry out comprehensive data collection on the immunisation status of pre-school children in the form of screening.

As a result, it can be stated that the willingness to be immunised in the Börde district remains at a consistently high level above the state average for Saxony-Anhalt. The following table provides an overview of the vaccination rates of preschool children in the Börde district compared to the state of Saxony-Anhalt after complete basic immunisation of the vaccinations recommended by the RKI for the 2024 school enrolment year, based on data from the Saxony-Anhalt State Office for Consumer Protection.

The Börde District Health and Consumer Protection Office is taking European Immunisation Week as an opportunity to draw citizens' attention to the issue of vaccination protection and to call on them to check their vaccination cards. Booster immunisations should also be carried out at regular intervals in adulthood. You can obtain specialised information from your family doctor or on the website of the Robert Koch Institute with recommendations from the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) at www.rki.de.
