On October 20 (10:00 to 16:00) and on October 21 (10:00 to 15:00), firewood suitable for stoves will be sold to the public in the Hohe Holz at the "Hubertushöhe". As the owner of parts of the forest area at the gates of Oschersleben, the district of Börde, together with the supervising forestry office Flechtingen, is organizing the traditional "firewood and fireplace days" again this year.
The offer is mainly native beech and oak. A front loader will be available for loading. On Saturday, at 14:00 individual "wood piles" between 2 to 5 cubic meters from the high wood will be auctioned.
This year the price for a bulk cubic meter of freshly split wood is 99,- € - cash payment provided, card payment is not possible. The delivery quantity per vehicle is limited to 4 Schüttraummeter.
The journey is worthwhile also for "not wood buyers". Families with children are welcome to the Wood Days. The State Center for Forests, represented by the Supervising Forestry Office Flechtingen, will provide information on interesting facts about forests, forestry and hunting. In addition to a small gastronomic supply on the Hubertushöhe, the hunting association of Saxony-Anhalt gives insights into the flora and fauna of the local forest. Likewise the "protection community of German forest" as well as the national hunt federation Saxonia-Anhalt will inform about different topics. Also actors at the chain saw and the carving knife show how to make "small works of art" from wood. These are also available for purchase. The creative workshop Behrens from Oschersleben will also show for goods made of wood and a turner from the Sülzetal will complete the offer.
