The legal adjustment requires an early application. To make the process easier, hunting licence holders can submit their application for renewal from November. To do so, it is sufficient to submit the completed application for a hunting licence renewal by post or in person to the district administration. The necessary background check will then be initiated.

The background check can take eight to ten weeks. Once the procedure has been completed, applicants will receive written confirmation. With this letter, valid proof of hunting liability insurance and the current hunting licence, the renewal can then be carried out.
Renewal is possible either in person during regular office hours
on Tuesdays from 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 18:00, and
on Thursdays from 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:00
or by post.
The Börde district recommends submitting the application from November in order to ensure that the hunting licence renewal process runs smoothly until 31 March 2026.
