The Audit Office is responsible for local audits (including audits of annual financial statements, cash transactions and vouchers, monitoring of payment transactions, audits of awards of contracts, audits of opening balance sheets) of the Börde district, the municipalities and municipalities belonging to the district, the Eigenbetrieb, AöR and special-purpose associations. As a municipal auditing institution, the Audit Office is also responsible for the supra-local auditing of the municipalities and municipal associations of the Börde district. Here, among other things, the audit of the budgetary and economic management of the municipalities is carried out. Private law matters of the citizens are not part of the audit tasks of the audit office.
