Forest education certificates handed over in the House of the Forest

Sven Schulze, Saxony-Anhalt's Minister of Forestry, visits Börde County as part of his summer bicycle tour. Together with District Administrator Martin Stichnoth, Minister Schulze presents certificates to nine graduates of the forest education program.

The advanced training course "Certificate in Forest Education" offers the opportunity to acquire forest-specific and pedagogical skills that open up the great potential of educational work in the forest. Five women and four men had taken the demanding exam.

Saxony-Anhalt is considered a pioneer in the further training of forest educators. As early as the end of 2007, the state was the first to introduce the new certificate in forest education. This state certificate is recognized throughout Germany in all federal states.

The advanced training is based on Germany-wide quality standards that were adopted by the forestry administrations of the federal states in 2007 and are continuously revised. In order to participate in the advanced training, a completed vocational training or a successfully completed course of study is a prerequisite. This ensures that forest educators have a solid foundation to use their knowledge and skills in environmental education in a targeted manner.

Thanks to the nationwide recognition of the certificate, forest educators from Saxony-Anhalt and other German states alike can further develop their expertise and make a valuable contribution to the protection and sustainable management of our forests. The continuous revision of the quality standards ensures that the training always meets the current challenges and findings in the field of environmental education.
