Scheduled school transport on 12 January 2026 despite weather conditions

Despite the current weather conditions, school transport in the Börde district is running as planned. This applies to both local public transport and exempted school transport.

After assessing the current weather and road conditions for tomorrow, Monday, 12 January 2026, the district of Börde announces the following:

Implementation of school transport:

All school transport (public transport and exempted school transport) in the Börde district will take place as planned, as transport can generally be guaranteed according to current estimates. However, weather conditions may cause delays to journeys.

Important restriction for exempted school transport:

Despite the general resumption, there may be selective cancellations in this area. If it is not possible to transfer pupils safely at the pick-up or arrival points (home/school) due to the snow conditions (e.g. uncleared access roads, snow banks on driveways) - especially in the case of wheelchair transport or mobility restrictions - the local driving staff will decide whether to carry out the journey. In these individual cases, transport may be refused by the driver for safety reasons.

Conclusion for school operations:

On the basis of the basically secured transport, regular school operations can take place at the schools in the district area on 12 January 2026.

Please note: Even if school transport is generally provided in the district, school administrations may decide to suspend in-person lessons at their own discretion in the event of particular local risks (e.g. safety on school premises, heating failure) in accordance with the guidelines of the State Education Authority. Parents and guardians are therefore urgently requested to consult the information channels of their respective schools (homepage, parent apps).
