With this great result, the Börde district is in third place in Saxony-Anhalt among municipalities with a population of 100,000 to 499,999. The state capital Magdeburg came in first and the city of Halle (Saale) second. The city of Dessau-Roßlau is still just cycling. In the state of Saxony-Anhalt, 43 municipalities took part in 2025, an increase of 12 municipalities on the previous year. The CITY CYCLING campaign makes cycling visible and provides local authorities with information on how many cyclists are on the move in order to prioritise the planning of cycle path expansion in order to adapt to individual needs.
