With the help of EAFRD funding, the lower nature conservation authority of the Börde district was able to set up information boards that not only contain exciting descriptions of the local animal and plant species, but also offer "fun facts" and play suggestions for children.
The new information boards are part of a project that represents a widely linked network of protected areas throughout Europe. Thanks to the cooperation of NABU, nature conservation officers and nature conservation associations, the project was quickly realised and information boards were installed in a total of 16 Natura 2000 sites.
In the new protected areas, the habitats of wild and endangered animal and plant species are to be preserved and restored. In future, the Natura protected area with the information boards will promote conscious nature tourism and draw attention to the valuable protected areas.
A further 39 Natura 2000 information boards are to be erected in Saxony-Anhalt in 2024. This includes between Hundisburg, Bebertal and Rottmersleben, where only one of the protected areas in Saxony-Anhalt is located.
