The Ohre, whose former names were Ohra, Ara, Horana and Ora, originally meant "incised stream".
The Ohre's route from its source to its mouth is 103 kilometres. On its way through Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, it passes various towns and was a border river between the two German states.
The lecture is about the places along the Ohre, watermills and buildings, some of which have long since disappeared.
