This year's motto is: "Diversity for Health". Among other things, "diversity" also stands for the different people with their various professions and expertise who perform a variety of tasks in the public health department every day in order to protect and promote public health (RKI, 2026).
"We" - for humans and animals
Numerous employees in the Börde District Health and Consumer Protection Office also fulfil a wide range of tasks. School entry examinations, instruction in accordance with the Infection Protection Act, dental examinations of children in daycare centres and schools, care and counselling of mentally ill people, hygiene monitoring and drinking water testing, as well as food monitoring and the prevention of animal diseases and animal welfare are just a small selection of what is done every day to protect and promote health.
The professions are therefore as diverse as the tasks - doctors, dentists, medical assistants, dental assistants, hygiene inspectors, social workers, administrative staff, health promoters, veterinarians and food inspectors work together in one office, united as a "we" for the health of humans and animals.
The Office for Health and Consumer Protection is divided into the following areas:
Hygiene and environmental health service
Medical officer service
Social psychiatric service
Youth medical service
Youth dental service
Veterinary services
Food and meat hygiene
