The awards for family-friendly employers in the Börde district were presented during the 4th Family Network Day at the EHFA multi-generational house in Haldensleben on 27.11.2023. District Administrator Martin Stichnoth and Marco Gravert, Managing Director of the Jobcenter, presented the certificates and trophies.
The award-winning employers include
- Municipality of Hohe Börde
- Municipality of Barleben
- Lebenshilfe Ostfalen gGmbH
In an application process, they demonstrated which measures distinguish them as attractive employers in the region. This commitment convinced the jury members.
For District Administrator Martin Stichnoth, it is a matter close to his heart to encourage companies in the Börde district to focus on their family-friendliness. "In view of the shortage of skilled workers, it is becoming increasingly important for companies to firmly integrate topics such as the compatibility of work, family and care into their corporate culture," said the district administrator in his speech. "Especially for employees who are responsible for caring for families, compatibility in the form of flexible working models or support services is a priority and is often a decisive factor when choosing a job."
The initiators of the network day, Ms. Katja Klommhaus, Equal Opportunities Officer for the district, and Ms. Birgit Borkowski, Equal Opportunities Officer at the Börde Job Centre, agree on one thing: "More and more companies are adopting a family-oriented HR policy. That's good - for families and companies alike!"
The initiators are delighted with this successful start and hope that many more companies will feel inspired to take part in the next application phase for the award for family-friendly companies in the Börde district.
