Renewal of footpath and cycle path on both sides as part of the extension of the district road K 1359 - OD Oschersleben

The extension of the district road K 1359 (2nd construction phase) with a shared footpath and cycle path on both sides of Wilhelm-Heine-Straße and Neindorfer Straße in Oschersleben is a joint project by the Börde district, the town of Oschersleben and the Börde drinking water and wastewater association

As part of this measure, the road is to be fundamentally extended, new shared footpaths and cycle paths, lighting systems, ancillary facilities, two bus stops and all drinking water and wastewater pipes as well as a new rainwater drain are to be installed.

An application was submitted for funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programme for the renewal of the cycling facilities, in this case the shared footpath and cycle path. On 30.06.2025, the district of Börde received a grant notification to promote sustainable, multimodal mobility in the cities and their commuter areas as part of the ERDF/JTF programme 2021-2027 of the state of Saxony-Anhalt for the construction project.

The project is being funded with EUR 0.77 million, which corresponds to 90 per cent of the eligible expenditure. The European Union is contributing 60 per cent of the eligible expenditure, which corresponds to EUR 0.51 million. The state of Saxony-Anhalt is contributing 30 per cent of the eligible expenditure, which corresponds to EUR 0.26 million. The total investment for the project amounts to EUR 3.57 million. The project completion date is set for 31 October 2026.
