On 10 June 2026, the inaugural meeting of the Börde District Inclusion Advisory Board took place, and the elected members were appointed by the District Administrator. He thanked them for taking on this important role and for actively working towards a society where everyone can live together on an equal footing and without barriers.
The District Administrator expressed his deep appreciation for their commitment. He is confident that the members of the Inclusion Advisory Board will represent the interests of people with disabilities in the Börde district competently and energetically. He wished everyone every success for the coming term of office, innovative ideas and the necessary support at all times.
The State Commissioner for People with Disabilities, Dr Walbrach, expressed his gratitude for the well-organised preparations for the council’s establishment, in which those affected were actively involved. He encouraged the Inclusion Advisory Board to network closely with other Inclusion Advisory Boards and to engage in dialogue with the federal states’ market surveillance authority for the accessibility of products and services, the new State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Health, and the State Centre for Accessibility.
Ms Watteroth, Participation and Disability Commissioner for the Börde district, gave a presentation illustrating the journey from the initial idea to the successful establishment of the Inclusion Advisory Board within a year.
Before the secret ballot to elect the new executive committee of the Inclusion Advisory Board, all members introduced themselves personally. In doing so, they explained their motivation for standing as candidates and outlined the key areas of work they wished to focus on within the Advisory Board.

The concerns raised by citizens during the four preparatory discussion rounds have been grouped by theme and form the basis for the work of the Inclusion Advisory Board’s first regular meeting.
The key areas of focus cover the following topics:
Participation & Accessibility: Accessible communication and low-threshold access
Education & Work: Inclusive education and employment for people with disabilities
Housing & Health: Housing, care and medical provision
Society & Daily Life: Mobility, social connections and inclusive leisure activities
