Apprenticeship as Road Maintenance Technician (m/f/d)

The district of Börde offers a well-founded training as a road warden with a guarantee of employment if the final examination is passed successfully.

Training structure and content:

• Training duration: three years, consisting of theoretical and practical training sections
• Training ends with an examination
• Practical training takes place in the road construction and maintenance department of the Börde district, Schützenstraße 45 in Haldensleben.
• Theoretical training takes place in classes at the vocational schools in Schönebeck, in block instruction.
• The inter-company training is carried out by the training center of the Beschäftigungs-, Qualifizierungs- und Innovationsgesellschaft mbH in Schönebeck (BQI) to supplement and deepen the knowledge acquired.

During the 3-year vocational training, at least the following skills and knowledge are to be taught:

• Vocational training, labor law and collective bargaining law
• Structure and organization of the training company
• Safety and health protection at work, environmental protection
• Acceptance of orders, work plan and scheduling
• Business management
• Use of information and communication technologies
• Setting up, securing and clearing construction sites, securing and clearing accident sites, other traffic safety measures
• Selecting, testing and storing construction materials
• Preparing and applying technical documentation, taking measurements
• Tasks of road construction authorities, application of legal regulations
• Carrying out construction and maintenance work on structures and roads
• Working and processing of materials and auxiliary materials such as stones, concrete and wood
• Laying out and maintaining green areas
• Installing and maintaining traffic signs and equipment, traffic safety and telematics systems
• Carrying out winter road maintenance
• Handling and maintaining tools, equipment, machines and technical facilities, driving and maintaining vehicles
• Quality assurance measures and customer orientation

• a qualified and future-oriented apprenticeship in a recognized training occupation
• Training remuneration in accordance with the collective agreement for trainees in the public sector from 01.04.2022 in the
  • 1st year of training: 1,068.26 euros
  • 2nd year of training: 1,118.20 euros
  • 3rd year of training: 1,164.02 euros

Other benefits:

• Capital-forming benefit: 13.29 euros
• Special annual payment amounting to 90 percent of gross monthly salary
• Training material allowance of 50.00 euros per year of training
• Final bonus in the amount of 400.00 euros

Vacation : trainees have 30 vacation days in a calendar year

Requirements profile:

• Realschulabschluss with a grade point average of at least 2.5 (physics and mathematics not worse than grade 3)
• health suitability to exercise the profession and to acquire the driving license classes CV, CE, C1E
• practical training as a road maintenance worker is desirable
• ability to work in a team
• technical understanding and manual skills
• should like to work outdoors
• ability to work under pressure
