From 26 August to 2 September, the Violence Prevention Working Group of the Börde district is organising a multifaceted prevention week under the motto "Stop violence".
Violence doesn't happen just anywhere - it happens among us. Whether it's digital violence, domestic assaults or perfidious scams such as the grandchild trick: the number of violent offences is increasing and many of those affected remain alone. In order to bring the topic of violence out of the taboo zone and raise awareness for respectful coexistence, the AG Gewaltprävention Börde is organising prevention days with the aim of drawing attention to the topic of violence in all its facets and jointly developing preventive approaches. A wide range of events for different target groups are organised over the course of a week. From the information and hands-on event "Living safely in old age" for senior citizens to a workshop against cyberbullying for young people. At the end of the Prevention Days on 2 September, the Violence Prevention Working Group invites all interested parties to the event "Behind doors - voices that need to be heard". The documentary film "Behind Doors" will be shown, followed by a panel discussion on the topic of domestic violence with experts from the Börde Women's and Child Protection Centre, the victim counselling service of the Social Service of Justice, the Domestic Violence Intervention Centre MD, the Equal Opportunities Officer and the Börde Police Station.
"Violence often begins where respect ends. With our "Stop violence" prevention days, we as a district want to make it clear that violence - in whatever form - has no place in our society. Prevention means looking, addressing and acting before it is too late," emphasises Katja Klommhaus, Equal Opportunities Officer and coordinator of the Violence Prevention Working Group.
The Violence Prevention Börde Working Group is committed to the sustainable and systematic prevention of violence. It sees itself as a network of experts, institutions and interested parties to share knowledge and exchange experiences. The working group organises high-profile campaigns, information events and themed training courses for the Börde district region.
