Under this year's motto "FOR THIS!", the Intercultural Week sends out a clear signal in favour of openness, tolerance and social cohesion. The campaign week has been celebrated throughout Germany for 50 years now - an anniversary that is also being honoured in the Börde district. The aim is to make the cultural diversity in our region visible and to promote intercultural dialogue. A varied programme has been created in cooperation with numerous local partners. The full programme of events will be published soon on the official Intercultural Week website: www.interkulturellewoche.de/datenbank
Highlights in the Börde district
One of the special items on the programme is a salsa workshop at the Kulturfabrik Haldensleben, which invites all dance enthusiasts to discover Latin American rhythms and get active together. In Oschersleben, the district road safety organisation is organising a day of action under the motto "Integration meeting for safety", which will provide practical tips and information on road safety, especially for people with an international background. At the big get-together organised by Café International in Haldensleben, guests from all over the district can enjoy music, culinary delights and good conversation. The children's festival organised by the Child Protection Association complements the programme with creative hands-on activities, games and lots of fun.
A sign of solidarity
With the motto "FOR THIS!", the Intercultural Week encourages people to take a stand and actively promote respectful, peaceful coexistence. The aim is to create encounters that promote understanding and tolerance, even beyond the week of action. All citizens are welcome to take part in the events, meet new people and set a visible example of diversity together. Whether as a guest, helper or co-organiser - all forms of participation are welcome.
The Coordination Office for Migration provides support in planning and implementing the week and will also publish the full programme in the form of a flyer.
