At its meeting on 3 December 2025, the Börde district council decided to establish an Inclusion Advisory Board in the second half of 2026.
The task of the Advisory Board for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities - hereinafter referred to as the Inclusion Advisory Board - is to promote the independence of people with disabilities or impairments in order to enable everyone to participate equally in life in the community in accordance with Article 3 (3) sentence 2 of the Basic Law in the Börde district.
This also means that accessibility within the meaning of Article 9 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities must be continuously improved in the district of Börde.
The Inclusion Advisory Board:
- is the point of contact for people with disabilities in the Börde district
- is a partner of the Börde district council and administration
- advises and delegates members to political bodies and committees
- works together with organisations, self-help groups and associations
- submits enquiries and applications
- makes suggestions and proposals to companies, administration and organisations
- is free to decide whether to accept or reject tasks
The inclusion advisory board should consist of voting members and other advisory members appointed by the Börde district council.
Persons with disabilities or their legal representatives can participate in the Inclusion Advisory Board.
Application requirements:
1. any person over the age of 18 who is committed to inclusion and lives in the district of Börde can apply for membership of the Inclusion Advisory Council.
2. the application must be made in writing.
3. in order to become a voting member, you must provide proof of your severe disability.
4. state in your application form why you would like to work on the Inclusion Advisory Council.
5. provide your personal details (surname, first name, address and date of birth).
