The project was implemented by the RKW Competence Centre on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) and supported regionally by the Börde district. The aim was to identify digitalisation potential in companies and develop practical solutions - from those who grow up with digital technologies as a matter of course: the trainees.
A total of 20 trainees from various sectors, including window and door construction, public administration, the pharmaceutical industry and logistics, took on this task. Within six months, they independently developed specific project ideas, implemented them with the support of their trainers and have now presented the results.
The range of projects is remarkable:
- Brömse GmbH & Co KG developed a digital tool for automatically calculating prices for front door panels.
- The municipality of Barleben converted its room allocation to a digital booking system.
- In the municipality of Sülzetal, tax file management was digitalised.
- The town of Haldensleben introduced a digital material ordering system.
- Salutas Pharma GmbH used social media to recruit trainees.
- Hövelmann Logistik GmbH & Co KG expanded the company's social media presence.
The project teams were supported by experienced coaches from RKW, who checked the economic feasibility and provided methodological support. A digital learning platform with numerous tools and materials complemented the practice-orientated concept.
With the completion of the project, the Börde district joins the list of 83 regions across Germany in which the Digiscouts initiative has already been successfully implemented. Over 720 companies and more than 2,300 trainees have taken part so far.
The district of Börde would like to thank all those involved, the companies, the local authorities, the RKW project partners and in particular the committed trainees, for their contribution to the digital future viability of our region.
