Landkreis Börde - Amt für Soziales und Integration - Sachgebiet Ausländerwesen und Staatsangehörigkeiten

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship, as the lower immigration authority, is responsible for all legal issues relating to residence law, such as issuing and amending identity documents. The same applies in the case of recognition of refugee status by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), as the foreigners authority issues or changes the residence title. Furthermore, co-operation is provided in visa matters. In the case of rejected asylum applications and the resulting obligation to leave the country, the foreigners authority monitors the departure or initiates the deportation. This department also includes the citizenship authority. In addition to the processing of naturalisation procedures, the examination of German citizenship is also carried out here.
