Landlord survey in the Börde district

What are the rents for flats in the Börde district, and what costs are considered reasonable when assessing eligibility for social security benefits? These questions are now to be answered with the help of a ‘coherent concept’, which is required by case law as a decision-making aid in social law disputes concerning reasonable accommodation costs. 
The Börde district, as the social welfare authority, has now commissioned the research institute DOMUS Consult Wirtschaftsberatungsgesellschaft mbH from Hamburg to draw up this ‘coherent concept’. In order to determine the level of rents in the district reliably and representatively, the broadest possible data set is required. In addition to the well-known housing associations in the district, a supplementary survey of potential landlords is to follow. To this end, around 4,000 letters from the district authority and questionnaires on rent levels will be sent out over the next few days. 
At this stage, the willingness of the property owners contacted to participate and their support are crucial. The higher the response rate to the questionnaires sent out, the more reliably the current level of rents in the district can be reflected. This will enable housing benefit payments in the Börde district to be adjusted in future and granted at an appropriate and fair level. At the same time, this represents an important step towards ensuring that those entitled to benefits are provided with the accommodation to which they are entitled. The data collection is therefore not only in the interests of those entitled to benefits, but also in the interests of landlords and all taxpayers. 
The Börde district therefore requests active participation in the data collection. 
The data will be collected anonymously, and the summary produced at the end will not allow any individual landlords to be identified. Data protection will be ensured at all times. Participation is, of course, voluntary and free of charge.
