The exhibition offers an intimate and unvarnished glimpse into the realities of life for young FLINTA* people (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender people). Through a series of short comics, the project illustrates what young people experience, feel and endure today – but above all, what makes them strong.
Created between 2024 and 2025 by the Centre of Excellence for Gender-Equal Child and Youth Welfare in Saxony-Anhalt (KgKJH), the exhibition is based on intensive workshops with girls and professionals, social media stories and numerous personal accounts. The result is a polyphonic mosaic of short comic stories. The experiences depicted are sometimes funny, sometimes painfully honest; they make you angry or give you courage. Each story stands on its own and highlights just how diverse, yet at the same time interconnected, these realities of life are. The exhibition operates on two levels. The comics convey the emotions, whilst clear statements send a strong message against violence, sexism and injustice.
Anyone interested is warmly invited to explore the exhibition during the district administration office’s regular opening hours.
