"It could have been a great opportunity that would not only have created numerous jobs, but would also have had a positive impact on the innovative and economic development of our region.
Personally, I was optimistic that the company would be able to successfully realise its relocation. I found the dialogue with the INTEL representatives to be very pleasant and goal-oriented, which reinforced my positive attitude.
However, the official cancellation has now provided clarity. I consider the timing of the cancellation to be honest and appropriate, as this decision puts an end to unnecessary wasting of time for everyone involved. This will enable the HighTechPark to develop a targeted marketing strategy for the Magdeburg site and open up new prospects.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to expressly thank all those involved in my organisation as well as the many employees of the participating municipalities, ministries, external stakeholders and the employees of the HighTechPark itself for their highly committed work in developing the park."
