Head of department Dr Denis Gruber emphasises the importance of this investment: "The road construction vehicles were purchased to replace three old vehicles that had been used by the employees of the road maintenance department for over 18 years and had each clocked up a mileage of over 400,000 kilometres."
A total of three new vans - two VW Crafter crew cabs with flatbed and one VW Crafter panel van - were procured via the Road Construction and Maintenance Department after the relevant tenders were carried out by the Central Procurement Office. One VW Crafter with double cab and flatbed will be used at the second site in Oschersleben, while the other two vehicles will remain at the main site in Haldensleben. All three vans will be used for road construction work on the district's roads.
The decommissioned vehicles will be auctioned off in the next stage. The total investment for the new vehicles amounts to 166,048.34 euros and will be financed from funds from the 2025 budget year.
