In accordance with the provisions of the Federal Hunting Act (BJagdG) in conjunction with the Saxony-Anhalt State Hunting Act, a check of reliability under hunting law was carried out prior to the renewal of the hunting licence. If no facts were found that would prevent renewal, the hunting licence can be renewed from 23 February 2026.
Once the check has been completed, all hunters will receive written notification by post. This letter will state whether no facts have been established and a hunting licence renewal is possible or whether there are facts that could prevent an immediate renewal.
A valid proof of insurance that fully covers the requested extension period is required for the extension of the hunting licence - if not already submitted. Privately insured persons must provide written proof of their hunting liability insurance.
For members of the Haldensleben and Wanzleben hunting associations, the relevant proof of insurance has already been submitted to the Lower Hunting Authority. Members of the Oschersleben hunting association will receive proof of group insurance from the chairwoman, Mrs Silke Kowall. Members of the Wolmirstedt hunting association are requested to contact their respective executive committee, as the lower hunting authority does not currently have any proof of insurance for this hunting association.
A membership card from the state hunting association is not considered sufficient proof of insurance.
If the hunting licence is completely filled out on page 5, a new hunting licence must be issued. In this case, a current passport photo must be submitted, which must not be older than one year.
If, in individual cases, facts have been established that could prevent the immediate renewal of a hunting licence, the persons concerned are requested to contact the lower hunting authority in advance. Until final clarification has been obtained in such cases, the person concerned should refrain from attending in person to renew their hunting licence.
Consultation hours for hunting licence renewal
Hunting licences can be renewed during the regular office hours of the Lower Hunting Authority:
- Tuesday: 09:00-12:00 and 13:00-18:00
- Thursday: 09:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:00
In addition, the following special consultation times are offered to enable the timely renewal of hunting licences for the year 2026 and to avoid waiting times
- Monday, 23/02/2026: 13:00-18:00
- Friday, 27 February 2026: 09:00-13:00
- Monday, 02/03/2026: 13:00-18:00
- Monday, 16/03/2026: 13:00-18:00
- Friday, 27 March 2026: 09:00-13:00
- Monday, 30 March 2026: 13:00-18:00
